Aspiring Managers: Emotional Intelligence - Understanding Self and Others
| Description | Course Overview: Develop the awareness and skills needed to build stronger relationships and create more inclusive working environments. This session explores how personality, individual differences, motivation, and emotions influence the way we think, behave, and engage with others. Participants will gain practical insights into emotional intelligence, enhancing their ability to recognise and manage emotions in themselves and others. The session also examines cultural competence and unconscious bias, helping participants understand how assumptions and perspectives can shape decision-making, communication, and collaboration.
Learning outcomes: * Recognise how emotions, motivation and personality influence behaviour. * Apply emotional intelligence techniques to improve relationships and communication. * Identify the impact of unconscious bias and cultural differences on decision-making.
Audience: Colleagues who want to strengthen their effectiveness in their current role, or prepare for future management opportunities.
Pre-work Requisites: This module is available to be taken as a standalone session, or as part of our wider Aspiring Managers Programme.
