Using AI responsibly
AI is one of many tools available to support work and study. If you choose to use it, we want you to feel confident making informed choices about when it is appropriate, which tool to use, what information you can share and how to check the results.
Before using an AI tool, ask yourself these four questions:
- Is AI appropriate? Do I actually need to use AI for this task?
- Am I using the right tool? Check the AI Catalogue for approved tools.
- Can I put this information into AI? Check the Information Classification Scheme and relevant guidance.
- Have I checked the result? AI can make mistakes. Use your own judgement and check outputs carefully.
